Can anyone explain to me why Planta recommends coco coir for planting golden pothos versus tropical soil for marble queen pothos? I have a giant bag of coconut coir, and as far as my experience goes both varieties are very hardy and have the same growing needs, but I’d hate to do anything to disturb my biggest marble queen!

    Whatever you’re doing looks great to me! A coco mix wouldn’t hurt, but it looks like she’s thriving

    Coco coir retains a lot of moisture. Using 100% will likely lead to root rot. Adding some to your mix can help if you are watering too frequently. Your plant looks happy so I wouldn’t mess with it.

    They tend to have slightly different growing needs, in general. Marble Queen needs more light to maintain the white variegations. Marble queen likes the soil to completely dry out. Golden likes watering with some moisture left in the soil. That’s not for all plants in those varieties. I wouldn’t change a thing if your plants are happy. They look happy!😍
