Hi, all! This may seem really stupid to you all, but I am just a little confused. For some preface, I am located in eastern Ky, where the weather is 75 degrees one day, and then by night it’s snowing. Which is literally what happened last night, besides the point lol. I can tell myself that my apartment is dry, and I’ve used humidifiers but they don’t seem to make a difference. I also am i very hot person as it is, because I’m always moving around and it’s always as fast as possible, because that’s just how I am. So I don’t like it to be very warm in here. I have some plants that really love light, like this monstera I’ve grown from a propagation and some alocasias, but I’m also just trying to get some things to grow so I’m putting them in front of my window. However, like I said, it’s 70 degrees one day and snowing the next. I just can’t tell if that’s the problem, that I keep it too cold in here or that it’s too dry. I will say this is a new apartment for this winter and I’ve never experienced such a dry environment like this before. I’ve done simmer pots and everything. I just don’t know how I can make them happier. If you all have any good products for giving them warmth, and keeping them happy, please let me know. Pictures attached of the soil and droopy leaves after watering on Sunday and today is Thursday.

The cold can be fixed with a space heater near the plants. I’m on the Texas gulf coast. Heaters and electric blankets before bed and the air conditioner starts the next day. My space heater is for the dogs and the plants near the back door and north windows. You can use a seedling heater under the pots. I have a pet heating mat (3x1.5 feet ) I would use. I would just place a piece of Sunbrella waterproof outdoor fabric on it. I recommend reducing the pot sizes to ones just big enough to hold the roots with about an inch of space for root growth. This includes the pothos. Excess soil holds too much water and takes too long for the plant to use all the water in it. The roots will rot before the soil dries out.

The problem I’m really saying is that I don’t get cold during any of it, so I keep the AC on always, no heat. I don’t own a space heater, never have, or a pad or anything. So I think a mat could be good, but I would be afraid it would just get too hot. What I was getting at was the window. I don’t know that the window is even helping because even though they stay there, some days they remain cold, and some days the sun is extremely hot. I’m not sure how to balance it out. As for the roots, these are all plants I’ve moved to bigger pots already because the roots were leaving the dirt whether it be out the top or through the bottom. So, they are definitely just big enough to hold roots. The large pot pothos has 5 large root systems in it, I worry that it’s not large enough. I’m mostly concerned about the humidity because, like I said, I can tell myself that it’s extremely dry inside my apartment, despite using humidifiers. And I can see that my plants soil has been drying out after just a few days of watering them. I feel like I’m having to water them constantly, I mean not all of them, but a lot of them. All the others are doing okay, besides these at the window

So you do have a cool mist humidifiers around your plants then? What's the humidity where you live? Humidifiers will help so you don't have to water alot

I do, and right now the humidity is around 67% outside, inside is probably significantly lower
