heeeelllppppp. My golden pothos that has been growing in water was going so well until I put it in a super skinny ceramics vase. It got root rot somehow and was molding. I cut all roots off and trimmed. there are still nodes but if anyone can help me save her it will be very appreciated 💚

Hmm that’s super strange. Maybe try twice a week this time. If you use the same vessel be sure to wash it with soap and water. I’d maybe let the cuttings soak in part water part hydrogen peroxide overnight. You can Google a good ratio I can’t remember off the top of my head right now but prob 4 parts water to 1 hydrogen peroxide? But look it up to make sure it’s bedtime with kids right now so brain is tired lol.

I’ve heard that sealing the cut with super glue or wax or something helps to avoid it getting all mushy like that

I agree with changing or adding water more often. Smaller pot means the plant will go through the dissolved oxygen in the water quicker

You mentioned you put it in a super skinny ceramics vase? Just wondering if it is clear. Most of the water rooting I’ve seen and is done in glass and I seem to think it’s so the developing roots can get light. I’m pretty new to all this though so I could be wrong! Hope it works out.

So I’m not sure about this, but I think that the ceramic might have been the cause, especially if it’s unglazed or porous. Glass doesn’t hold on to bacteria or absorb water whereas ceramic might. I would put her back in glass to be safe! You can also put a little peroxide in the water just to kill any remaining bacteria. Hope she bounces back!
