Rain 🌧🌱

Hello! Beginner plant parent, I got this n'joy pothos yesterday from a Kroger (saved the poor thing) and I'm completely new to plant care, especially pothos. I've done a bit of research and so far so good, I kept him near the window as well as the heat lamp in my lizards cage, after I got home I immediately put him in my window sill to get a little more light before the sun went down. Are there any tips for raising a n'joy?

If this is your only plant, make sure to look on all of the stems, leaves, etc for any critters. If you find any, get some natural pesticide like a Neem Oil spray. Otherwise, I would quarantine this ASAP. Make sure it has moist soil, don’t overwater it by letting the soil dry out between waterings.

Thanks so much! I haven't seen any little critters other than a springtail so I think he's alright, I'll keep looking though!

Keep in mind that they’re the slowest growing variety of pothos so you won’t always see tons of growth. If she ever looks sad, droopy, or wilted she needs water. Mine is a big baby and drinks way more than the normal amount for a pothos- so listen to your plant, not a schedule or an app.

Got it! He loves water even though he's a small baby. Hoping that within a few years we can start getting a few hanging vines 😁

That’s funny because you’re responding on an app that helps track watering needs, but I completely agree 😆 I water my Hawaiian when she gives me a weird curl on one of her leaves and her top soil is dry a bunch of inches down but if I left it to the app every time she’d be under watered

Ps it doesn’t really matter for care purposes but this is a pearls & jade pothos, not an njoy. You can tell because there aren’t pure white parts, they’re specked with bits of light green

luckily for you you picked up one of the easiest plants to keep alive :) just follow the watering schedule and make sure he doesn’t sit in hot sun for a long time. these buddies enjoy (get it) bright shade and caaaaan tolerate some sun, but i wouldn’t recommend it. best of luck!

Thanks so much! I just bought a plant light (arriving this Friday) so I plan on giving him 8 to 10 hours of light. I also just got a snake plant and philodendrons, luckily they're all around the same conditions.
