Hi everyone! Would anyone happen to know what this weird red fluff that is growing on the roots of my Pothos propagation is? Thanks!

Looks like an algae growth or something. Id sanitize the vase. Spray or dip the roots in peroxide. And put it back in. Change your water every 1-2 weeks
3 J'aimeOk thanks! I wasn’t sure if it was a fungus or something but algae makes more sense. Thanks again!
0 J'aimeIs it possible those are part of the roots? Most roots I’ve seen put out small hairs
1 j'aimePerhaps…?
0 J'aimeNo, it's not something natural to roots. And it's water based growth, so wouldn't go onto the stems that's out of the water. Glass is inert. Stems also have a coating. Not exposed to bacteria and such like the root hairs
1 j'aimeBecause it doesn’t seem to be growing on the stem parts or the glass
1 j'aimeIdk what it is but the same thing happens to most of mine and it’s never caused them not to grow or anything. Just a lil slimy is all.
0 J'aimeIf it’s attached to the roots, it’s perfectly healthy and means your roots are getting plenty of oxygen!
