Hi everyone! Would anyone happen to know what this weird red fluff that is growing on the roots of my Pothos propagation is? Thanks!

    Looks like an algae growth or something. Id sanitize the vase. Spray or dip the roots in peroxide. And put it back in. Change your water every 1-2 weeks

    Is it possible those are part of the roots? Most roots I’ve seen put out small hairs

      No, it's not something natural to roots. And it's water based growth, so wouldn't go onto the stems that's out of the water. Glass is inert. Stems also have a coating. Not exposed to bacteria and such like the root hairs

    Because it doesn’t seem to be growing on the stem parts or the glass

    Idk what it is but the same thing happens to most of mine and it’s never caused them not to grow or anything. Just a lil slimy is all.

    If it’s attached to the roots, it’s perfectly healthy and means your roots are getting plenty of oxygen!
