I was gifted this snake plant and was wondering the best location for it? I’ve saw that some have them in their bathroom while others choose an outdoor spot…just want what’s best for my little guy💚

snake plants have terrible PR! They’re always banished to dark rooms but they LOVE light! I recommend putting this in the sunniest spot available to watch it thrive!

I would put it in a smaller pot. There won’t be enough root to absorb the water and you may risk root rot.
4 likesI felt like this pot was too big but since it was gifted that way I just thought maybe that’s what it needed. Thank you so much for your advice!!
2 likesHe definitely needs a smaller pot. They are pretty easy, they’ll tolerate low light conditions but they’ll thrive in sunny spots!

0 likesIs that a picture of the smaller pot? It looks the same to me. If so, he needs like a 4 inch starter pot with drainage holes. You could always sit the small pot in a planter if you want it to look bigger but too much wet soil will rot the little guy.
0 likesYes, that is the smaller pot🤦♀️ it does have drainage holes, it was advertised as a self-watering planter. I will go tomorrow and get a 4 inch pot…this is a 6 inch pot he’s in now. (He was in a 11.5 inch pot when gifted)
0 likesThey like to be squished together so let it get pretty big before you separate or try to propagate. Mine do best when in bright indirect light but they can do full sun or low light as well. Don’t overwater it.
