Hiiii I am very new to plants. I bought this beaut at Lowe’s. It’s my first pothos. Inside of the white hanging pot is a plastic pot with drainage holes. When I went to water it I saw these roots coming out from the bottom. Does this mean I should repot it to a bigger pot? Or just leave it be?
It needs to be repotted now but only in a pot maybe two sizes up from that one. A clay terracotta pot would be best

Let it be, pothos like being in a tight pot. Keep it in there for another year or so

It may not need repotting. Roots sticking out the bottom could be attracted to the drain water in the outer pot. Remove the red plastic pot to check all the roots. More roots than soil means it needs repotting.

3개 좋아요 The new pot should ideally be only 2” wider in diameter than the current pot to avoid root rot. Roots need to use all the water in the soil before they rot. Too large pots hold excess soil and water that eventually rot the roots.
