I’m pretty disappointed right now. 🫤 I ordered an Epipremnum Champs Elysee from an online seller. Not a single gill on the plant. It’s in a 4 inch pot and the leaves are fairly good size. But I think I got ripped off. It looks like a golden pothos to me. NOT a Champs Elysee. 😱🤯😡 What do you think? Edit: Heard back from the buyer. She said that not all CE pothos have gills and that they’re not essential to the plant’s well being. So basically, tough cookies. The photo displayed showed a plant with GILLS. I did purchase grower’s choice. But I did not expect getting a neon pothos when I paid for a CE. I’m honestly not a complainer, and I try to just take my lumps. But this ticked me off. Beware of buying any plants from The Green Escape.

    🤔 It could just be that its from a nursery and not in good condition. This pothos is closely related to the shangri-la pothos and sometimes gives shriveled leaves. I see some cut stems at the bottom, so maybe people thought the plant was damaged and cut the shriveled leaves? I see some scarring under the leaves, maybe it tried to form gills and failed. Ive read that humidity helps with that.

      I did read that even though it may need more light and/or humidity, there should at least be “ridges” where the gills should be. Nada. 😢

      I will share where I bought it from. I don’t want to get TOO snarky with them yet. I’d like to give them a chance to explain. So I don’t want to badmouth them. Yet. 😒 TheGreenEscape on the Palmstreet app. I’ve had GREAT experiences with other sellers there. And I always check the reviews before buying. I’m hoping this was just a fluke and they’ll have a great explanation. 🤨🙏🏻

    I bought what I thought was a neon pothos from Kroger and a few of the leaves had these weird things growing on them, it wasn’t until right now reading you calling them gills that I realized I have a Champs Elysees!! lol unfortunately I’ve lost all but one leaf with the gills. But this is pretty awesome to learn!!!

      Hey! Not sure how to do this…but if you will give me your mailing address, I will send you this Neon! They’re sending me a replacement CE since they sent me the wrong plant. I’m happy to send this lovely Neon to ya. Kinda seems like a win-win to me. I’ve not shipped a live plant before. But I’ve certainly ordered my fair share, so I’m sure I can package her up nicely for you. All I need is an address. 👍🏻

    After sending a rather snarky note, I DID just receive another message from the seller. They apologized for the mistake and are sending a Champs Elysee to replace the Neon they sent by mistake. Whew. Now I’ll go amend the review. LOL!
