Hello fellow pothos parents, I have noticed that some of my pothos’ larger leaves are turning yellow. Due to it being winter season, my pothos receives six hours of “sunlight” from a plant light. I try to water it according to Planta’s schedule, but it appears very droopy before the next watering. My pothos will appear healthy then will begin to droop severely before the watering day scheduled by Planta. Due to this, I will water it sooner (bottom water) and it will perk right up. A few days later I will notice another yellowing leaf. Most of its leaves are healthy, but it is beginning to lose many that are on long vines quickly. Is it being underwatered, overwatered, or is it just inconsistent watering that is stressing it out? Is the light too much or not enough? Any advice and information is greatly appreciated!

    I have been dealing with temperamental plants this winter and found that 1) I have had to water some of my plants more frequently than planta originally suggested. The app adjusted well to the increased watering frequency pretty quickly though. 2) a humidifier makes a huge difference for most of my plants, pothos included. I notice a difference if I don’t refill the humidifier every day

    My Pothos has been doing the same things! And I agree with Amanda about needing to water more in the winter.

    I disagree. I think you are experiencing the effects of overwatering. All of my pothos want to dry out almost completely before I water them during the winter. Keep them warm and in high humidity but don’t water them more often. It is better to under water them at least they can bounce back. I think you might consider giving her more light. All of my plants are getting 12 hours from their grow lights during the winter. Hope that’s helpful!! We’re rooting for you!! 💚💚

      What I forgot to clarify is that my Pothos IS drying out completely sooner in winter than in summer. I’m assuming due to drier air, heaters, etc. I never water before it’s completely dry. And where I am it’s been super dry due to a snow storm lol.

    Agree with using a humidifier, really made a difference for my babes.

    Mines been doing the same thing this winter. We’re having a really cold spell being under the polar vortex and all, but what helped mine was repotting. I was getting yellow leaves like WOAH and nothing was helping (changing watering more/less, repositioning the grow light)

    I have the same issue and ive done more watering and less watering and im gettinf alot of half yellow leaves and then the stems turn yellow and then the leaf does. So my only solution is to transplant..its been in the same pot for a yr now and its 11 inch pot and i dont want to loose it. Last year the winter for me wasn't this bad. So im sure that has something g to do with it since it sits near the window in my kitchen and that's the only window that gets sun light. And I dont have anywhere to put a grow light for it in there..

    I got a meter you stick in the plant and it tells you the moisture level, fertily level, light level and ph level, angle my ponytail palms leaves were brown and crunchy at the end and my handy meter says it has 0% moisture, Plantas schedule has I followed it would have me watering him on the 23rd!!!! I don’t always follow what they say, if I did I would have some extremely over and under watered plants!! Do you pay for the app? I would day he’s thirty if he’s drooping prior to watering to water him sooner!!
