Hello! I’m new to plant keeping I just bought this golden pathos it is potted in an 8inch pot. The plant is looking a little bit neglected like it’s dying from the ones I’ve seen doing research. Let me know if I can do anything different or to help! I water when dry and have plant food I could put in with the water every two weeks as well
i think you're fertilizing too often. you should only fertilize your plants once every 4 waters, especially outside of spring/summer. unfortunately, it is possible to fertilize too much, and it can cause some serious damage to the plant. i'd give the plant food a break for a while to see if that changes anything.
1 me gustaTo add to what plantgeek said, when you do fertalize, make sure you dilute it WAY down! The recommended amounts they put on the packaging are super misleading and actually meant for more of a commercial size setup. For potted plants you want to dilute it somewhere around ¼ strength, some plants even more diluted. Also water the plant a bit first, Get the roots wet and THEN do the fertilizer. Ya don't want fertilizer on "dry" roots. Being that we're not really even into spring yet, I'd stop fertilizing all together until the growing season. I'd also flush the soil of any accumulated salts/fertilizer. Just top water until you see water coming out the bottom from every drain hole. Another trick with these pothos is since they do like to dry out between waterings, the soil can get a bit (or alot) hydrophobic. So with my plants that like to dry up, when they're ready for watering I'll bottom water to make sure the whole rootball is saturated then I'll use the water from the bowl to top water (flushes the soil). That way I know the water isn't just running down the side of the soil and out the bottom without actually saturating the roots. Lately, that pot looks a bit on the big side for her. Only use a pot thats about 1-2in bigger than the rootball. These guys are super tough though, try these few changes and see how shes doing in 3-4 weeks. Best of luck hun!
