If I cut up half this long vine into sections to prop it, is that too much stress for the main plant? Wasn’t sure if the “no more than 25%” rule applied here as is it does to pruning, removing roots, etc.

    I don’t know of any rules. I’ve completely cut up the entire plant if needed. You can cut it up. Just watch the watering with less plant to use up the water could lead to overwatering and root rot.

      Agree with Sunny. Less plant, slower drinking. Go forth and chop that baby up!!!

    You could also swirl the long vine around and pin it to the soil so the nodes are touching soil and it’ll root up and give you a bushier plant
