Hey guys! I’m propagating a cutting from my golden pothos and was wondering when it is ready to be put in soil? This is what she’s looking like right now!

    Wait until the roots are at least 2” long and/or have secondary roots.

    Honestly, they love water (some of mine are permanently thriving in it), I’d wait until they are a at least twice as long as in the photo. It all depends on if your water has the nutrients to support growth. if the water you are propagating in is fertilized then the longer the better! If you’re using normal water (totally fine) just trove it regularly and once the roots are a bit longer get it into some soil so it can have nutrients! You got this :)

    I don’t transfer any of my plants from water until there’s at least two or three new leaves. After the first leave appears I begin mixing in more tropical soil each watering cycle. But, being a Pothos, they do okay with a little rooting hormone and seed starter! These plants aren’t afraid to fight for their survival!

    These are mine, since they are doing well I am in no rush to remove them yet. They have also produced new leaves since. But yeah wait until you see roots grow from the main roots. Also make sure they are long enough. Happy propagating!!
