You would have to cut and prop, making sure to have a node or two with each cut, most lovely full pothos plants are made of multiple cuttings

To get a bushy pathos you’ll have to propagate. I’d recommend taking a cutting and placing it in water for a few weeks till you see roots develop then transplanting to your main plant

Like the others wrote, you aren’t doing anything wrong! It just takes pothos a long time & ideal conditions to naturally put out secondary vines. Fertilizer will boost your chances quite a bit. My Cebu blue actually started branching when I repotted it into soil with slow release fertilizer (Osmocote) If you don’t want to chop & prop, applying Keiki paste is another way to encourage new vines quickly. It contains a hormone (lanolin) that stimulates new growth & branching. You just smear some on a node & it should start producing a new vine. Another way is if you “layer” your single vine (bending it back inside the pot, making sure the new nodes have contact with soil). Over time, if new roots grow from those nodes, new growth may follow due to more of the plant having better access to nutrients. Also, if you do go with chopping and propping, the parent vine itself will often branch in response to being pruned. So don’t give up on it even if you only leave like 3-4 nodes on it :)
