I need help!! Please give suggestions. I recently inherited a decent sized golden pothos from my late grandmother, but I am not sure about her fertilizer routine, watering schedule, or where she placed the plant in her house. As a result, it's been difficult for me to adjust the plant to my home environment. The leaves have started turning brown or completely yellow and rolling up, despite my efforts to mist it once a week and water it once a week. I've had the plant for about a month now and it came on about a week ago at a strong speed.

From your description, it sounds like you might have overwatered it. Depending on the size of the pothos, the weather where you are, etc, watering once a week might be too much, especially if your pot doesn’t have drainage holes. Pothos are pretty resistant to drought and are easy to tell when they need watering. A thirsty one will get floppy and have its leaves curl in, but once watered will return to normal. Usually it’s best practice to wait until your pothos starts dropping a bit before you water it again to prevent root rot. Generally overwatering and root rot are what kills pothos the most in my experience, because they’re pretty hardy as far as plants go. You didn’t really give much information on the light conditions your plant is in, but golden pothos can generally take a wide range pretty well. As long as it’s some what close to a window and is not getting full sun all day it should be good. Also, if you end up in the scenario where most of the plant is dead, pothos are easy to propagate. If there are some healthy leaves left, look at their base to see if there’s some brown numbs near the stem of the leaf (these are root nodes). If there is, if you cut the stem of the plant so that includes the root nodes and some leaves. If you stick the cutting in water or dirt it should grow into a new plant. There’s lots of good online resources about pothos online, as they’re popular house plants. If you need more information it might be worthwhile to do a quick search.
