To mist or not to mist a pothos? I've had a neon pothos for about a year now and have been following the Planta suggested routine which is a misting about every four days. Recently I got fungus gnats which I've never had before, I skipped misting but continued to water as normal as that's when the gnats would emerge from the drowned soil and I could see if they were still there. The gnats seem to be gone now and I've gone back to misting on the regular schedule. I was also told by Planta it's about time to repot my pothos and I have read that old soil in an old pot could also attract pests. I was using a humidifier at the time for my pothos, initially pointed directly at my plant but after noticing some wilting I changed it to point just past it. The winter caused the humidity to drop into the 30s and the humidifier would get it into the 40s. But once the gnats appeared, I removed it as I heard it's not all that needed anyway and it's less maintenance on my end.
