If I have fungus gnats all around my Pothos pot, am I overwatering it? She’s still thriving! Also, what is the best way to get rid of them? Thanks friends!

    Let it dry out more in between watering. Also mosquito bites.. it's on Amazon! Water with that mixture until they're gone!

    Photos? Too big of a pot can hold excess water too long providing constant moisture that supports the gnat eggs and larvae. Reduce the pot size to just big enough to hold the roots with a little room for growth, if needed. Replace all the soil, if repotting, to clear out the larvae and eggs. Disinfect roots with hydrogen peroxide. Water only after the soil dries out and not be a strict schedule. Get a yellow sticky trap to catch the adults. Use Mosquito Bits or BMC Microbe liquid solution in water when watering. The beneficial bacteria in both products kill the larvae in the soil. No more larvae, no more adults. Use it even when the gnats are gone.🪴🍀

      I’ll take a photo and upload once I’m home :) Is it best to repot…? I don’t want to stress my plant out. I have yellow sticky traps already and they’re a god send! I’ll look into mosquito bits too.

      Don’t need to repot if the plant can use up all the water in the soil before roots rots. No need to repot if there is no root rot. Just treat with one of the products mentioned above every time you water to kill the larvae in the soil.

    I use Zevo traps and the yellow sticky traps in some pots. It's really a watering issue, so I'm trying to pay more attention to letting them dry out a bit more. When I water I use Gnats B Gone or mosquito bits. The number of gnats I'm seeing seems to be dwindling, so I think it is working.
