Though they’re long, both my Pothos are kinda ugly looking and sparse. Should I cut and propagate the bottom off and replant them back in again? Looking for advice to make them look better 🫤

BrittanyThat’s what I would do. It’ll encourage a flush of new growth where you make the cuts & you’ll get a fuller look on top, wins all around.

ABagelI was scared to do the same with my sanseviera but I chopped it up and replanted and it’s doing so much better now. I only lost one leaf but gained so many more. Please go for it!

CelestaMy own pothos props are in a phase right after dormancy where they explode with growth. Totally worth the wait and effort!

NikillerIf you want to try a fun new way to propagate a pothos, you can cut the leaves all off a vine and wrap the naked vine around inside the pot and bury it. Every node will grow new roots and a whole new growth point which will lead to a thicker plant that’s basically starting new

I’ve done this but with the original plant and just repotted with the vines wound around in the pot, burying the bare parts but making sure those with the leaves don’t get too buried. No need to cut anything :)

BekkI was going to say this!! But I just wrapped the long vines around the pot and pinned them in place rather than cutting the stems. This was mine before and after, it totally works and so glad I did it 😊 I also propagated just incase it didn't work but I didn't need to!!! And have made 5 new plants from her over the past year!

SJThere is also the option of kieko/clone paste at those bare nodes. It can stimulate growth without cutting, but only do a few at a time to not shock the plant.
