hey yall i've had a golden pothos now for a few months, and its growing and looking beautiful, but not growing "out." any tips to help it grow up/out more?

    Sure, chop a few of the longer stems off in five or six inch pieces, and put them in water… preferably with the aid of prop drops. Be sure each piece of stem has some nodes on it. Let the stems grow plenty of thin, white roots, then plant them in your Pothos where there are empty spots. This may take a couple months, but it’s really quite an easy process. I’ve done this several times, and I’ve used these props to fill out some of my thinner, Pothos plants. You will be well rewarded for your patience. Good luck!

      thanks! my only problem is that there isnt any nodes growing. sorry, i dont know the correct wording for things, but there's no "vines" or nodes growing, its just sitting there lol

      I just wanted to ask, do you know what a node is? It’s anywhere a leaf has attached to a stem. Does this help you? If you are confused, please get back to me, and I’ll offer a better explanation!

    What do you mean by this? The vines are long and leggy? Or its not growing at all?

      there isnt any "vines" growing at all. sorry, im new to having plants so i dont know the correct wording for things. but everything else about it is beautiful, its just not growing vines

      Like its growing leaves and roots but not long vines? Thats fine, one thing at a time. Its only spring, youll see more in the summer.

    Pothos vines don’t grow side branches. You have to chop and propagate a vine and put them back into the pot to get the full look. My 8” wide pot of Philodendron Brasil has a ridiculous amount of individual vines to get the full look. Follow Lynda’s instructions above. 🪴🍀

    Has it gotten new leaves since you've had it? I checked out your profile for it and I think its just a fairly young plant and once it grows a little more you'll start to notice that it looks more "viney".

      They do tend to grow up or toward the light for a bit before the vines get heavy enough to trail.

      its gotten a handful of new leaves, do you know how "old" it has to be to get viney? trying to make sure im not accidently causing the problem haha

      Every time it gets a new leaf, the vine that the leaf is one will get a little longer. So it really just depends on how fast its growing. Giving it the optimal care will help it grow faster.
