I have NEVER had luck propagating so please before I chop my golden pothos let me know a tried and tested method of propagating them! I know they’re super easy to propagate supposedly but I’m struggling

    Chop under the node of the plant not above! It’s usually right under where the leaf grows from. That is where the roots will start to come out of so you want to make sure that part is submerged in water. Any glass container works. Then I put them somewhere they will get part sun part shade and forget about them! Golden pothos actually start to root pretty quickly!I won’t plant them in soil until there’s multiple roots that are at least 2 inches long and keep the soil moist when you first pot them so they can adjust.

    The best tip I can give on how to cut it, is that it should make a "T" shape. So right where you see the leaf coming out from the stem, cut the two sides so you'll have that T on the bottom. Bonus points if you see a little bud of an aerial root, that is where it will start to root first in water/soil! I struggled at first with propogation, but once you know what you're looking for, its a breeze. Good luck!

    I would agree with the above tips and like to add to make sure the cut ends callus over 24 hours before putting the cuttings into water

    And I have never let pothos cuttings callous over. They will grow regardless. Just put in water until you have at least 2 inch roots or secondary roots (roots that grow off the original root).

    My guess is if you aren’t successful, you are putting just a leaf in water. That will never start. Cut a piece about 4 inches long just under the node and take off the bottom leaf.

    Everyone is giving great advice, i would like to add that some advice ive heard is if you're going to chop and prop a plant, make sure its after you have watered it and not when its thirsty. People have said that it usually boosts the cuttings survival rate. Ive never really paid attention to that before so i can neither confirm nor deny this, but its worth a shot lol
