New Pothos owner here 😊 My neighbor propagated a Golden Pothos and gifted the well grown cuttings that are still in water. I wan to plant it in a pot, but I’m not sure what soil mix I should use, how big the pot needs to be, and asking for any other helpful tips. Please help this gal, I don’t want to kill this pretty plant
Hey! The pot size people normally try to pick a pot 1 to 2 inches bigger than the root ball. Pothos aren’t to picky about soil but I’d definitely get a house plant mix that has drainage like has per light in it for sure! To help it get some air to its roots! Pothos are a great starter plant! They are very forgiving so as long as you don’t overwater or underwater them they are pretty happy plants! So you’re gonna do so great with them! You got this!

The cutting is large, but, the roots are small comparatively. I would start with a 5 - 6 inch wide pot. Try fitting the roots in a 5 inch pot, first. There should be a little room to grow. Use a tropical houseplant potting mix with lots of perlite for good drainage. 🪴🍀

Op! I was gonna say I do a 4” pot for my cuttings (and they had hella roots on them this time) maybe I’m going too small on my first pots? Did a marble pothos a month ago that seems ok, and just repotted a few manjula cuttings last night (that were DESPERATELY needing potting!!)
0개 좋아요 I’m assuming you are putting all the cuttings in one pot to get a full pot of several vines. So a 5” or 6” pot could hold all the vines. 🪴🍀
