does anyone have any tips on how to kill the tiny little black bugs? when i first got my plants they weren’t a problem until about a week ago, and I’m tired of them flying around my room. i’ve tried the organics houseplant insect killer spray but o don’t think it’s doing anything. i’ve washed my plants as well. any tips would be appreciated !!!

water with a hydrogen peroxide solution to kill the larvae in the soil. potting your plants in quick drying media & terra cotta helps to keep them at bay from the jump since they lay eggs in damp soils and moss

The sticky gnat traps help catch them. I combined that with treating the soil with diluted hydrogen peroxide. As eatyacarbs suggested, I changed soil to quick drying soils. And i am making sure the top inch or two is dry before I water. I still see a few, but only like 1 or 2 a day. I may retreat the soil. The sticky traps are still out. And i learned the importance of quarantining new plants

Well, I have only gotten one new plant since then. I plan to quarantine it for 30 days (I have read recommendations to quarantine from 2-3 weeks to 40 days).

I switched to leca on most of my plants that tolerate it and it solved the issue. For the soil-lovers, I just removed some soil and put leca on the top layer 2-3in. The bugs don’t seem to like reproducing in it.
