Hi everybody, I’m a new plant momma and I feel like I can save them all (I bought 11 in the span of a month😂). Anyway, I bought Haze at Walmart about 8 days ago. She was on clearance and dying. The soil was done for and she needed some lovin’. When I got home I repotted her in a mix of orchard bark and potting soil mix. Cleaned her with some neem oil and checked for pest. She was fine on that end and all her roots were perfect. So here is my question, there’s a leaf that’s not doing the best and she has this little callused piece on her. Should I leave those on there or should I cut it off. Also what should I do with the piece that’s callused over?

I’m no expert, but after all the trauma she’s been through with being neglected, then rescued and repotted, I’d be tempted to just leave her be for a while so she can adjust and settle in. But I’m interested to see what others say because I’m still learning. (Thanks for admitting to thinking you can save them all. Glad I’m not the only one! Oh, and eleven plants in one month? That’s NOTHING! 😳😬😉🤣🤣🤣 LOL!)

I would just leave it for now. Its awesome that you're rescuing them from Walmart! I do that too when I can, but finally I don't have room for more😭

Oh. But you can ALWAYS squeeze in “just one more plant”, right? 🫣🤪

Ya its amazing how you can rearrange to make another one fit😂. My mother restrains me too tho.

I recommend cutting the leaf if it worsens in the next week. This can make way for new growth, instead of your plant putting all their energy into saving this leaf.

The cut piece is the main stem. I agree that you should leave her alone and let her acclimate—trim that wonky leaf if it gets any worse. I see two or three new leaves developing so that’s a good sign!
