I have had this pothos a couple of years and have only just started to look after it seriously šŸ™„šŸ˜³ (I know, sorry!). I feel like it needs re-potting as this is the original pot it came in, but I have NO IDEA where to start! Any basic tips and advice for a newbie is much appreciated šŸ˜ŠāœŒšŸ»

well she looks great! and a pothos is a great first repotting plant — they’re not super fussy and aren’t sensitive about their roots. Try to knock out as much of the old soil as you reasonably can — a few firm pats works for me Go one size bigger — a pot that the current pot fits inside of with about an inch or two of space between it and the edges of the new pot. I keep mine in a good potting soil with extra drainage (you can use perlite and/or bark) And that’s it! If you pull it out and aren’t sure what to make of things post pics! I’ll help šŸ˜ŠšŸ’š

I would love to hear from Jpatz how this repotting technique works, as it hasn’t for me. For me, not touching the pot-shaped soil around the roots, and just setting the whole thing in a larger pot with new soil works perfectly.

for a pothos that can work too! i take the extra step because these roots aren’t sensitive like other plants and I’d like to make sure it’s mostly my own fresh soil mix
