new to pothos! is this normal? if not, how do i fix it? it’s in a spot that’s part indirect sun (1-2 hours) and part shade (most of day)— it’s a northwest facing window— watering on the schedule that Planta has me on. i just got her about a month ago and was told they’re easy, but i do not know the best place to keep it. i’d love to hang it from the ceiling in the corner of my room, but that’s full shade no direct sun

nothing concerning here! if you can get it more light it would appreciate certainly, but i’ve had pothos thrive under office fluorescents

wonderful okay! i had noticed a leaf turn completely yellow recently so i was worried it was a lighting issue

well how far from your NW window is this? it would need to be directly in the window for that to be enough light

about six feet, on the east wall on a shelf currently. if it were in the corner i was hoping to put it, that would be on the west wall (hope this makes sense lol)

ahh ok you’d be shocked by the depreciation of light that occurs when a plant is just 2 or 3 feet away from a window. 6 feet away is basically in the dark for a plant, eventually this pothos will become sad without adequate light

your pothos looks fine :) pothos are super easy. mine does well in any light (super far from the window, near the window. it truly doesn’t seem to mind) of course the more light you can give it the happier it will be. they grow up trees from the forest floor so they’re used to getting sparse lighting

even shade outdoors is staggeringly more light than indirect indoor light — you need to factor these things in

oh absolutely, i’m not saying it’s perfect advice, just that mine have done well in extremely low light conditions and more direct light conditions. just giving my experience
