If I’m water propagating a pothos and one of the leaves is turning yellow does that mean it’s too close to a window? I have east facing windows. Or is that a sign the propagation isn’t working?

It can be bc your cutting has too many leaves and the plant will pull its energy from that leaf and use it for rooting. Or it could be bc of rot if your cutting has that. Or not enough oxygen if it’s in water and you’re not changing it weekly. Or too dense of soil if it’s soil so it’s overwatered. Or it could be just random. So you’ll want to troubleshoot those factors. And if there’s nothing above applicable you need to fix and If you have a node just let the leaf yellow and fall off naturally so it can use the energy it gets from that leaf until it’s gone and it can still root without it. Highly doubt it’s too much light for a cutting unless it’s got too much direct light from like a south facing window and it’s getting brown burn marks.
4개 좋아요Thank you! So backstory, I was saving the plant from root rot so I took a few cuttings with nodes and aerial roots and plopped them in a glass of lukewarm water this past Thursday. So the water is only about a few days old. Here is a picture of the setup here and the leaf

I think they look fine. I would squeeze the ends to make they aren’t squishy. Chop until they’re not squishy and you could also put a dash of hydrogen peroxide in the water too but i often forget and they still make it after chopping the rot off usually lol. It might just be coming off if there’s more than one leaf per cutting.
