Sinister Biscuits

I’m sort of surprised at how little Planta is telling me to water Leilani. I check her soil and if the top two inches or so is dry, I was told she needs water. However, the app has me going every 15-20 days and that seems wrong. Anyone else have this issue?

    No actually, looking at the plant it seems pretty large and substantial. Especially with it being winter, I would say that’s about right. Pothos are pretty drought tolerant and I wait to water my big global green once it’s dry all the way to the bottom.

      Gotcha. I was doing that before and she was SEVERELY under-watered and started to turn yellow drop leaves like nobody’s business. It is winter though, so I guess it makes sense.

      She used to be HUGE (that’s her on the right) and then I repotted her, and she went into shock and then was under-watered so I’m super anxious about her growing back properly. Thank you for the reassurance!

    I agree with Alyssa. I wait till they’re 90-100% dry before watering. Another good sign pothos need water is they’ll curl their leaves. Usually takes a day after watering for them to uncurl. BUT they’ll also curl if they’re overwatered, so only go by this sign if you know the soil is dry.

      My marble queen does the curl and as soon as I do about 1/4 cup of water, her leaves flatten back out 🤭

      Oh that’s so helpful! I traveled a lot this year (over 80%!) so I was using Planta to keep an eye on things while I was gone. I feel better knowing that my girls are just going through a normal season
