This is my first time dealing with fresh cuttings. I had them in a cup, but didn’t really fit whatever vibe I have going on lol so I bought something off Amazon that fits the theme. Let’s hope it works out lol. I’ve dealt with rooted cuttings, which one of the hard parts was already over, growing roots lol. But currently I’m just guessing at this point. What’s an average length of time I could start seeing root growth? Anything special need to do to help them out? Also, bought these cuttings 2 days ago. They are Satin Pothos “Silver Lady”

    In my experience, Satin Pothos just tend to grow slowly, especially this time of year when temps drop and we get less daylight. One little trick that’s helped me: pairing them with a faster-growing pothos. Those varieties release more natural rooting hormone and can gently encourage the slower plant to pick up the pace. I usually use my golden or neon pothos for that boost. It’s a little hard to see from the pictures, but are the nodes in the water? It looks like the nodes are on the edge of the glass holding the stems up in water.

      Yes. All of that is in the water. They are hanging on the glass by where the stem comes out of the leaf.

      The nodes should be fully submerged, they’ll dry out otherwise

      Hey unrelated but do you consider neons fast propping? Mine took FOREVER to prop, far longer than my satin. I want whatever neon pothos you have lol

      If you’re a talking to me, I actually don’t own a neon Pothos. Unless I do and don’t know it haha. I have a lemon lime Philo right next to my golden Pothos

    I’ve propped satin pothos before, a few times actually. They prop really slowly, but it isn’t more difficult. I would say they should be ready in about 3 months. Also it really doesn’t look like the nodes are under the water. It’s hard to tell in the second photo, but I circled the nodes that are clearly above the water line. The areal roots (little brown nubbins) have to be completely submerged since those stem from the node and grow nicely into full roots. If you just shove them down a little further into the glasses they will be fine. I hope I don’t come off as rude, I just want your props to succeed :)

      Yea idk what I’m doing lol. I’ll fix it right now. See when I out then in the water I wasn’t even sure if they were upside down or not, or if that even matters.

      Thats fair lol, (I don’t think direction matters actually) a lot of people on the app use words like node and areal root and other terminologies that new plant people wouldn’t know, which makes it kinda hard to get advice when the advice you receive feels like it’s a foreign language at times. Lemme know if you have other questions about props or plants, I’m far from an expert but I’ve kept (and killed) enough plants that I feel confident to speak on some of them. Good luck with your props btw, they are beautiful

      I went through and adjusted them all. They were all under accept for one. In order to keep him submerged I just flipped him lol.

    Not all plants but some actually need to dry out a bit before submerging into water . I just wanted to relay this as it helped me a lot. Succulents, monsteras etc 
 just ensure to change the water frequently. I honestly put mine in a mason jar and bunch them together . You will save a lot more room and it’s less effort before placing into soil.
