I am still figuring out the right pot size for my plants. My soil has been staying too wet so I just downsized all of my plants. Hopefully they won’t all be super mad at me. What do you think of these roots? I don’t have a lot of experience looking at roots yet to know. Some are brown and some are white, none feel mushy.

Remove anything mushy. The roots color can be several factors. Usually age. But also if you have a transparent pot the roots exposed to light will darken.

Thank you! Wasn’t sure if that color brown was okay but it still feels firm

If im putting a plant back into the sane pot, I'll generally remove about 25% of the roots. Giving it room to grow. To upside you generally only want to go up 1-2". Ie from a 2" pot to a 4" pot. If for some reason you have to go larger, I usually put a kind of dirt well at the base, so that when I water it focuses on just below the plant, and not the entire Pot.
