I accidentally dropped my plant just now and the stems(?) the leaves are crashed. It’s my first time taking care of plants and now I’m trying to save it by propagating the crashed (?) bits - the leaves…? Can anyone tell me if I’m doing the correct thing and what can I do to make sure new shoots will grow? Thanks very much x

Hi Chloe! I have the most success with propagating when I use filtered water and change it regularly (every few days). I make sure to rinse out my containers in between since they sometimes are slimy. Make sure they get light, but not too much direct so the leaves aren’t scorched. Roots will form on stems that have nodes (the little bent/lined spot every few inches). If there is at least one node and a leaf you will have the best luck, but I have been able to get leaves and roots from just a stem with nodes. It’ll take a couple weeks before there’s enough roots to repot, but if you’re patient you should be successful! Hope this helps 🪴

Please do! I just saw another comment about only replacing about half of the propagation water because plants release rooting hormones to help the roots grow. Haven’t tried it yet, but figured I would pass along!

Hopefully you got some nodes. Should be good as new in no time! Plant will be even fuller, next time you may do it on purpose. 😜
