What the heck is this? I thought it was a mealy bug at first but looking closer at it I don’t think it is? There’s that big one and I also found two other small ones. They’re all coming out of a node!

Agh! Eeks lol, so many bug posts recently are giving me the goosies 😱 definitely looks like a larva/grub of some kind, I’d try to cut and prop sone healthy nodes, don’t know if this will be good for the plant with something munching

It’s a brand new plant and I also got the goosies when I was unboxing it!!! I honestly can’t tell if it’s larvae or maybe a fungus? Lol I JUST got this plant so I’m trying to wait before I chop and prop 😭 it’s such a nice and full boy!
0 likesOh bummer, that’s so weird lol. Idk, is it wiggling at all 😬ugh true that would totally suck, i guess maybe if it is a fungus take it off if you can with some rubbing alcohol and then spray it with an anti fungal spray of some kind and see if it helps

It’s not! It’s solid but slightly fuzzy. I think it’s a FAT aerial root lol. I honestly might chop and prop just that one stem because it creeps me out hahah
1 likeWow! Haha that’s a chonkster of an aerial root then lol, cool, I wonder how that prop will go. Update us sometime haha!
1 likeLooked like a big aerial root to me at first, then I thought and couldn’t recall ever seeing aerial roots THAT big before. 😬 There is a possibility it is a root from the look of the thickness of the roots below but I am unsure. Good luck with whatever it is! :)

That’s what I was leaning toward but it’s the fattest aerial root I’ve ever seen lol! It’s getting quarantined anyway so I’ll keep an eye on it. Thanks!! ❤️
