Hi everyone!! I’m new to having a pothos, when I got him last week he had these brown spots and seemed pretty frail. I believe he was over watered when I got him so I gave him the week by the window to hopefully dry out a bit. The weather here has been extremely cold with dry air, I just watered him but he just is not doing great, drooping and brown/black spots. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Yeah I wouldn’t water for like almost 2 weeks but mist it

I would also make sure there are no cold drafts coming through the window. I had a veteran pothos that never recovered from exposure to the cold.

Honestly, it looks ok. As long as the black/brown isn't spreading it should be fine. Those marks will remain but you'll get new leaves. One commenter said water 2 weeks apart and that sounds reasonable, for now at least 🤣 Come spring and summer it'll all change.

You may wanna check for root rot or check to see if the pot is too big (based on the size of the rootball). If it’s(the pot) to big it take longer for the water to dry out and it’s just sitting, and the plant can’t soak it up fast enough therefore creating rot.
