Some tips that may be helpful coming from a novice plant person: 1) The cuts at the bottom are best at an angle that’s not too diagonal, but not straight across either. Like a very slight diagonal angle, but not too much. 2) If the cut can be directly under a node without it being too short, that is good too. 3) It’s good to change the water every 3-5 days. Definitely at least once a week. 4) You want the roots to have grown at least 2 inches before trying to plant in soil. Sometimes moving from water straight to soil can be a big shock for the plant & it can die. A way to prevent this, is as roots are growing you can slowly introduce more and more soil into the water. This makes the change more gradual and less shocking for the plant when you do plant it in soil. 5) Lastly, try to use filtered or distilled water if you can. Regular water from the faucet can have stuff in it that’s not good for the plants. You may already know all of this, but I hope it can be helpful in some way 🫶🏻

좋아요 1개Ensure at least one node is under water at all times. This container might be too shallow or you can trim 1/2 inch or an inch off the end of the cutting to place it deeper. Roots wont grow at the cut. They usually grow out around the leaf node or from aerial roots.

좋아요 1개Remember to change out the water often! But not too often, the plant releases root hormones and if you change it out too often it gets rid of those.
