My marble is not doing well. I barely touched one of the limbs today and it came out super easy, it was black and had the little dots of mold on the roots. He was just potted 2 months ago. It has drainage and well draining soil with peat moss. I don't know what to do, any advice??

I would repot it in a slightly bigger pot, there is different soils you can use for this plant too, which i just learned and found out today on this app. After that I put mine on a table 2 feet away from the living room back door windows. And they have been thriving well. If a powder mildew starts on the soil. Mix half dawn dish soap and half water and mist spray the top of the soil to get rid of the powder mildew/mold.

From the first picture, it doesn’t look like it has signs of root rot because the leaves are perky. Do the stems seem flimsy? I personally think the pot is too big but I could be wrong. How frequently do you water/fertilize?

Mines done the same thing before, I can't really nail it. I think I was over watering at one point. And from time to time the leaves will naturally yellow and I usually just remove them. Just by snaping them off from the main stem. I think it's just shedding some of it old leafs off and making room for new growth. But if the roots are rotting then maybe try another source of soil. I know they show phothos soil recommendations on here.

I water every 6 days or untill soil is dry! I haven't fertilized in over a year I presume. But I do add fresh soil on the top every so often when it looks like the the stems are protruding from the soil. So it has more of a bedding for the viens, I feel like this keeps them intact more the the base of where they sprouted from.

Every 6 days seems like a lot to me but every plant and environment is different but it does look super wet unless you just watered it. I’d start fertilizing! You can soak banana peels and use that water for watering every once in a while. You can also do hydrogen peroxide waterings (1 part hydro to 5 parts water) Since you’re adding soil, the soil might be compact and hydrophobic—how fast does the water drain when you water? Have you taken it out of the pot to look at the roots? It could also be fungus, which the hydrogen waterings would help with

Where was he before you potted him up a couple months ago?

Oh I haven't looked at the roots, but water does drain quickly, mine looks damp cause I sprayed the dawn dish soap and half water just recently because since I was pouring water directly over the soil. I then went on to read to let it absorb up the drainage hole to water it, then wait 10 mins before dumping the rest of the water out from the drainage dish/plate. Only few times from the top to get the nutrients to run through it, Also they said to mist is every the days? For humidity reasons.

I would check the roots! The plant looks healthy but since they’re coming out of the soil easily, do they have roots when they come out, are the roots tiny?

Thank you for informing me! I'll give that a shot one day!

BeBe i think so, sometimes some of the steams will grow these small nubs i would call it. If that's is what you're suggesting.

The nubs are aerial roots!! They grow above soil level. They help the plant grab surfaces for vining, absorb moisture from the air, help the plant to become more stable, and grow faster! You can also propagate a new plant from taking a cutting with an aerial root. You don’t have to keep them on the plant. Some people leave them, others cut them off—it’s really up to preference! What my other comment was referring to the root system in the soil and what they look like! If they’re pulling out easily, it could be because of root rot. A good way to tell if a plant has root rot is if the roots are brown and mushy, and fall apart easily.

Oh!!! Alright!!! That's interesting!! And yeah my roots aren't like that. They are firm and solid.
