I’ve been growing this single vine in water for awhile and it’s becoming top heavy. I’d like to continue to leave it in water. Should I cut it halfway down and place in the water to root? The new leaves are so beautiful and I’m nervous to cut it!
Three options: Pinch off the vine as you said, though this will stop the vine from growing longer. Or you can buy a small trellis for the plant to grow upwards, letting the leaves grow even larger, but it could get too top heavy and tip over. Or you could try sphagnum moss. Ive had bad experiences putting my plants in dirt too, so i use the moss. Its light and airy, and it keeps moisture very well. However, the moss does not contain nutrients and you need yo use fertilizer as well. $5 for a slab of moss and $10 for a tub of powder fertilizer to last a couple years is a very good deal though, in my opinion!

u should but it in a thin necked bottle like a wine bottle/or a soda bottle
