Is it time to prop? I’m scared to make the cut!! She’s my first baby so I don’t want to hurt her but the vine is nearly 8’ long and I’ve got it wound around my plant stand to keep it outta the way, which makes watering annoying. I kinda want to do a mixed pot of all 3 of my pothos and a moss pole…is it prop time? 😥😥😥
Anytime you have a trailing branch on a pothos, you can chop and prop! I’ve propped several of my pothos; they are so easy to prop, and grow fairly quickly. Just be sure you leave a node on the stem that will be put into water; the addition of something like Clonex or Prop Drops is a great way to quickly help the roots grow. Make sure you have lots of white roots, and roots on roots before you put them into soil. The picture of the large Pothos was a plant in my doctors office that they kindly let me take a few cuttings from. The smaller one is cuttings from that plant. Plus, I’ve given away several of these plants… to good homes, of course! Good luck! PS. I forgot to mention if you have empty spots in the soil of your plant, you can just add a few propped stems into those spaces, and your plant will grow into a much fuller, prettier plant.
Thank you! Yes I’ve heard about how easy they are to propagate. I was just more looking for encouragement to do it… I’ve never trimmed her before so I’m nervous to do it.

Consider giving her a trellis to climb up. Climbing pothos get bigger and fuller leaves, rumor has it. In the future, vines will grow infinitley if you dont pinch them off. If the vines get longer than the plant can handle it can damage the plant. I know this because i have a tradescantia zebrina, they will vine themselves to death if you let them 🙃
3개 좋아요 I would take some props to do a moss pole. I’m just scared to make the cut! I’ve seen a few YT ppl show off their giant leaves on moss poles and I’m so intrigued on trying it myself. Didn’t know that vines being too long could be a problem. I’ve seen people with vines that wrap staircases!!!

좋아요 1개 It is but the care is very much the same. The brasil philo’s are just more delicate/thinner than the pothos’. I have both and I treat them the same.
