Would it live if I put it in soil? And if not, how much more time do I need to wait?

    Personally I prefer to leave my cuttings in water until they have a solid root system. When planting a cutting in dirt for the first time, it can cause some shock for the plant and cause it to wither. They usually recover from this, but the bigger the root system the better they take replanting, at least in my experience. This is one I left in a vase of water for about 4 months, and he’s had no problem being transplanted at all, started growing new leaves immediately. I would leave it for a few weeks if you can, just to be safe.

    2-2-2 rule is what I go by when propagating. Two roots with two root offshoots that are at least two inches long.

    Pothos are very resilient. I plant in soil when the roots are 2” long. I add rooting hormone powder too.
