My new pothos had three leaves like this with necrosed stems. I pruned them but can’t tell why it’s developing these. Is this an infection or root rot? Help please!

    I would say overwatering or not enough drainage.

    Were the yellow leafs closest to the centre of the plant/first on the vine? If so they’re the oldest leafs and that’s normal. I would make sure that pot you have it in has good drainage, or that you’re using a nursery pot inside it. If no nursery pot/drainage def repot so you can drain it as they like to dry out between watering, and so you can check for root rot. Otherwise it looks healthy from the photo and I wouldn’t worry much.

      They were near the edges! I’m using the pot the plant came in - I’ll try to repot it.

      If they were further down the vine towards the end then it might be an over watering thing. Do the repot and keep an eye on it. Let it dry 100% before watering again. They like to be tight in their pot and to drain out well between watering

    These guys are very easy to stress out because of the high variegation. The green part of the plant is the part that takes in water and sunlight the best. Because it’s lacking green, it struggles doing the “plant” thing, making it overreact a lot. It needs a pot with drainage holes and it needs to be potted up and left alone and given as much light as you can (not direct sun as it’ll burn.) think of it as a starving plant because it just can’t make enough food. You have to supplement more light to help it along. 👍

    Honestly might just be stress from the move. A lot of plants stress out and drop a few leaves when you bring them home, especially highly variegated plants like marble queens. Depending on how recently you got it, it could just be stress. If it keeps dying then it could be a problem, but it looks mostly healthy if a bit stressed. I would wait to repot it, that just adds more stress to the already upset plant. If it’s still an issue in a few weeks then start looking for other problems.
