Hello plant friends! Question about my marble/snow queen. She was overcrowded and root bound in a box store 4” pot, so I divided her in two and repotted about 3 months ago. Both have been growing well, but the one I put in a clear container (6” with drainage holes) has developed what appears to be algae?? This is the first time I’ve used a clear container so I’m not sure if this is normal. She sits on a shower caddy shelf in an east/south east facing window with an overhang, so good direct sun in the morning and shaded by about noon this time of year where I live. I’ve been adding hydrogen peroxide to the waterings and Arber insecticide (also at war with spider mites) for about a month with little progress regarding the green growth. Any insight and advice is appreciated!

Hello!! So I was talking about algae growth yesterday and it was mentioned that it grows with the addition of sunlight in damp conditions. Same thing when I Google searched: [Lien supprimé] Seems like the clear container could be the cause since it’s letting in that light!

I was told to only ever use them inside a decorative pot, maybe these is why !

It’s definitely algae. Put the nursery pot into a cache pot to block light to the potting medium and the algae will die back.
