Anyone have any ideas as to why my leaf is curling in? Also I feel like it’s been growing this new leaf for ages and not unfurling

Might be underwatered, most leaves curl when they’re dry

Under watered scindapus curls its leaves to conserve water. It could also need more light and fertilizer.

If this was recently an unrooted cutting it could be because it’s not properly rooted yet. I’ve found Scindapsus can take a long time to root and the leaves will curl like this during the waiting period, but also if it is already properly rooted it’s likely a sign of underwatering.

I’ve had it for close to a month. There was some good roots on it but I did put it in a potting soil with quite a bit of drainage. Maybe I need to water more frequently. Would it be more stressful to the plant to take it out of the pot and have a look at the root system ?

You could check the soil using a bamboo skewer (like for grilling kabobs) or a chop stick and see if it comes out wet or dry when you insert it to the bottom of the pot instead of pulling it out of the soil.

Mine took forever to get established after I propagated it. Even when I thought it had plenty of roots it still grew very slowly and curled a lot until just recently. I would suggest watering when the soil is dry and being patient. Hopefully in a couple of months it will start filling out for you.
