I wasn’t happy with the way my satin pothos was growing up its’ moss pole so I decided to stake it down and see how it goes. Should I cover the top with soil or leave it as is?

    I think it would be better to cover the top with soil, it should give the nodes more room to root in!

    I would sprinkle rooting hormone powder over the nodes and cover with a quarter inch of soil. Keep it lightly moist around the nodes to encourage roots. Keeping it too wet could attract insects. I’m assuming there are roots in the soil at the end of the vine and this is not just a cutting. If so, water as usual when the soil dries out. Another option is to cut it into 3 or 4 pieces and propagate in soil or water. Later, put all the rooted cuttings into the same pot to grow a full lush plant. 🍀🪴
