The best I can tell from the picture is that it appears to be root hairs. They increase the surface area for the root to absorb water and nutrients. They don't develop on aerial roots unless humidity is very high and it appears the root in the picture is out of water. I’ve seen aerial roots get these in my terrariums (as seen in picture) where the humidity is really high.
4 Me gustaI like the set up you have for your Pothos! Did you make the glass container or purchase it like that? How often do you change the water? What about fertilizer/food? Sorry for all the questions, I’m curious!

I got it in this h2o bowl! It was either Lowe’s or Home Depot! I thought about potting it but it’s been thriving in this little bowl in my bathroom window! Because it’s in the window I have to add water every other day to make sure the roots are covered but I clean out the bowl and change water about once a week! I put fertilizer in the bowl I’d say about once a month so she can eat and then I just switch out the water! You can buy h2o bowls on Amazon too because I have something similar for my lucky bamboo!
