My beautiful girl got the spider mites!!! 😫😫😫😭😭😭 treated her with isopropyl alcohol/bronners peppermint soap and water and sprayed the heck outta her and I know it’s just a few mites but I’m so sad for my lovely gal!!! Stupid chives!!! They’re supposed to keep the mites away but they just infected her and my curry leaves plant. Tell me she’ll be ok!!! (And if anyone knows of anything to keep mites permanent away id LOVE to hear that!)

She’ll be ok. I suggest washing her in the sink spraying all the leaves down. I mix equal parts of teaspoon of peppermint oil, cinnamon bark oil, Neem, and Dr Woods peppermint soap (to bind) and poor it in a 16oz spray bottle. The oils mask the Neem smell. Or buy Perfect Plantista but it’s expensive and they just changed the formula and so I’m not a big fan anymore. I spray mine down before every watering, then rinse it. I’ve been lucky 🍀 and haven’t had them since doing this regularly and I have a decent amount of Alocasia’s. Good luck. Just make sure to shower her frequently they don’t like the water. If it’s really bad use insecticidal soap. People used to freak me out on YouTube about it but it’s a non issue if you Mr collection of plants is manageable to where you have the time to take preventative measures

Thank you for all the tips (and reassurance!) she’s been in quarantine and I’m gonna respray her tonight/tomorrow but maybe I’ll give her a shower too. How often do you spray for preventative?

Once a month. I used to spray every time I watered, I’ve kind of slacked off this growing season and all my plants are fine. :) definitely shower her when it’s time to water

Or put a bag over the soil so you don’t over water.

Oh good idea, then I don’t get soil in the tub too. I’ll give that a go thanks! I think I got her a bit sun burnt tho, she’s got some black spots on the leafs from being outside. Usually my porch doesn’t get direct sun after about 12 but it musta been really bright yesterday bc I got home and she’s got some patches on her 😫😫😫😭😭😭

Could be pest damage. You can trim those leaves off. Spray her with insecticidal soap let her sit and then wash I. The shower. Then spray her with the soap weekly. You can use the no chemical recipe or Bonide.
