Hey! I just picked up this Devil’s Ivy on clearance from a garden center. It’s a pretty mature plant, but it has brown spots all over. I think it might be a fungal infection, but since this is my first pothos, I'd love a second opinion. I don’t think it’s thrips since I haven’t seen any on the undersides of the leaves. It’s still putting out new growth, but even the new leaves have these spots. Would it be better to remove the affected leaves, or should I try chopping and propagating instead? I know they’re quick growers, so I don’t mind losing the length if needed. Just don’t want it looking too bare if I leave it as is and end up with mostly bald vines!

    My favorite anti fungal is at home depo it is in a blue spray bottle and it’s specifically for house plants. Do a test spot on an infected leave. And I would remove all leave affected. To help it not to spread. But make sure to sanitize the clippers or scissors before and after each leave to not cause further issues

    Just looks like spots where the leaves got scratched to me. If it starts declining rapidly, I’d be worried about fungal, but honestly it’s probably fine. They are very hardy plants.

    Fungal usually presents from the tips instead of mid leaf, in my experience. The new growth in the last pic looks healthy, so you’re probably fine. I’d check the roots and see if there’s any rot or mushy roots. That being said, it’s growing pretty awkwardly on the coir pole. Are you going to keep it there or repot eventually?

    Hello, I believe those spots occurred due to excessive sun exposure, especially if you live in a sunny state like Florida. You can propagate your plant without any issues.
