First time poster here! I live in a cold place and I have my plant going up the window attached with loose Velcro straps (yes, I know about vine clips, just haven’t gotten that far). I just needed to know if it’s ok for the vines to be close to the window like that while it’s cold, they are to long to move all the time and I don’t have another place to put it. What’s your advice? ☀️

Depends on the plants. Just see how it does then you will know if u need to move it.

You usually don’t want the plant to touch a cold window

I unfortunately have never had good luck with plants in windows in the winters. Most windows in environments like this get too cold for plants to be very close or touching them. You’ll know if your plant can’t handle it because the leaves will get all sad-looking (droopy, colour changes, just looking overall unhealthy) and then you’ll for sure have to move it. If it seems okay so far then I’d keep a close eye on it. If you feel a draft or cold air by the window, I’d start sticking the vines further away

It’s better to place the plant in a warmer location in the room, add a pole/trellis and add a grow light. You can get a grow light for about $20 online.
