Hi all, new to the pothos world and was looking for some advice! I’m mainly a cactus gal I have this marble queen pothos (I think) and she droops quite often. I have her under a 26w full spectrum bulb and it’s about 20 inches under the light. I have no idea if it’s too close? I have been waiting for the soil to dry out and am watering about 1x a week and misting about every other day. Do I need to be watering more often than that since it is so close to the light? It has one ginormous leaf that doesn’t seem to be in the best condition and I don’t know if I should cut it?

Is the grow light in the lamp in the picture? If so, I’d argue it’s probably not enough light long term. Download the Photone app and do some light readings to check. The app has light level recommendations for a lot of common house plants too. Bigger question is if the pot has drainage holes. Don’t see a drainage tray there which is why I ask.

I think you’re right on the lux levels it’s putting out. I will put it under an led for the future! It’s only been getting about 8-10 hours at 5k lux. It does have drainage, I water in my kitchen sink generally and don’t really care too much about the table.

I learned that they like not harsh partial sunlight more than artificial. So if you can, put it some what close to a window. I’d let the soil be dry for a few days maybe a week before watering. I switched the soil of mine to tropical/cactus soil and my pothos’s are thriving enough I can start babies! I also mist once every few weeks as well. And remember, pothos like their roots snug in their pot as well. Yours looks like a good size, but just a good tip to know. I did not for awhile!

Good to know, thank you! I unfortunately don’t have any more window space but I’ll see if I can move some things around!

I definitely would only water when it’s dry. The will droop a little but will bounce back easily. Water all the way thru when you water, then wait til it’s dry.

Maybe too much light? Mine likes the shade

My marble queen must be defective 😅 I have her about 3-4 inches away from a grow light and maybe water 2x a month and she's put on so much new growth and more variations than ever. She likes to get dry between waterings and thrives closer to the lamp any time I take her away from the lamp, she acts stressed

It may be the pot! If there’s no drainage there could be root rot. I always recommend leaving plants in their nursery pot and the putting that in the decorative pot so when you water, the water that the plant doesn’t need can escape!
