Looks like root rot from overwatering, poor drainage or both. The stems look mushy especially at the soil line meaning it’s rotting from the roots upward. Check the roots for mushy and smelly roots. This will be difficult to save. I don’t see any viable leaf nodes that could be used to propagate a piece. I recommend restarting with a new healthy plant. Ensure it’s in a well draining soil mix like succulent, aroid, and alocasia. They provide sufficient moisture without allowing the roots to sit in water. Water when at least one inch of soil dries out. Also, ensure it has sufficient light. The green on the leaves should be much darker.

thank you so much!! i took apart the pothos and was able to find some nodes that weren’t mushy so i put them in water so hopefully they will grow roots🙏🙏

That’s great! Keep the cuttings out of direct sun. Change the water once a week. Change it sooner if the water is dirty. The cuttings will probably be a bit weak since they are stressed and take a while to put out roots. Good luck🍀
