Hi! I’m very new to ~actually~ caring for plants (dark past of many, many dead plants) and I need help with my pothos! I got it maybe a couple months ago, and it was growing perfectly for a while. I then repotted it because I read somewhere that you need to repot it at least once when you first get a plant and change the soil. The new pot is about 2 inches bigger. The problem though, it’s stopped growing ever since I repotted it which was maybe over two months ago? What should I do? Anything would be helpful!

It looks healthy with no yellowing or dry spots. Adding diluted fertilizer more frequently in the summer growing season could help, if you are not already doing that. But, the plant does not look under fertilized. Another issue could be insufficient light. The newer growths look leggy, leaf nodes far apart, compared to growth close to the soil. Move it closer to brighter, indirect light or add a grow light. Grow lights come in many forms including little adjustable height ones that sick in the soil. The other issue could be too low humidity. Add a little humidifier or put a saucer of small stones below and keep water to increase humidity around the plant. Good luck.

Wow thank you do much! I have never fertilized since I am quite new to this and don’t have enough information. Is there any brand you recommend? I have thought about light since it is a little far from my window, but I didn’t know those grow light existed because that would be perfect!!! I can’t move it closer to the window since I have no space, so I may get those. For humidity, do you put the saucer below the plastic pot? This pothos is currently in a nursery pot which is in a decorative pot. So would I put it directly under the nursery pot inside the decorative one? Also, last question, but is there any soil mixes you recommend for pothos? I feel like the one I currently use, which is just a regular indoor soil mix from home depot, retains too much water and doesn’t dry too fast which I’m afraid may lead to rot. Again, thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate it!!

Height adjusts like a car antenna. I’m old enough to remember adjustable car antennas!

I don’t have indoor potted plants. All my plants are on the patio. So, fertilizing and soil are designed for them. But, I have used diluted miracle gro every two weeks in summer on my houseplants. I stopped buying potting soil at big box stores unless it’s Miracle Grow or some other name brand to avoid big wood chips, mushrooms and clumps. I usually get mine at the local small plant shop with over 60 years of history in the town. It’s run by three generations of older women. Their plants are stunning. Plant watering granddaughter knows all about soil and additives. I get their “high quality” potting mix. (I don’t have the name since I used it all. ) I learned a lot from the plant shop owners over many years that I didn’t get at the big box stores. See the pic on pebble trays for increased humidity. Make it wider than the pot for max humidity. Put pot on top of rocks to avoid roots in standing water.

I did buy some miracle gro fertilizer but wasn’t sure how to use is so thank you!! For the soil, I also don’t trust the soil at big box stores too much but it was the only option I had at the time. I will definitely check out some local plants stores!! 60 years of history is absolutely amazing. I hope I get lucky like that !! Thank you for the pictures that really does help a lot. I’m so glad this actually helps so I don’t need to move my plant!
