Please help/give advice on what keeps happening to my plant. The leaves first turn yellow then will start getting brown/soft in the middle. I water only when the soil is dry and the plant is in a west facing window.

This is kind of random but do you mist it a lot? If so, this could be a fungal issue. You could also check the roots.

And if you want, try propagating it and starting over!

I do mist it but not too often, maybe once a week. I was thinking of propagating it, but I have never done that before. Where would you recommend cutting it?

I don’t think it’s a fungal issue then! To propagate, cut behind a node (brown bump on the stem). If the bare stem where leaves have fallen off still seems healthy (is the same color and texture as the stem that still has leaves) you can chop at the higher mark. If the stem doesn’t seem healthy (is a different color or texture) cut at the lower mark! Lmk if you need any more help. You can place it in a cup of water (make sure the node is underwater) and change the water 1-2 times per week. If you want, you can cut in between every node so there’s one leaf on each cutting. This would make it so that when they’re done propagating you have a bunch of stems (a whole plant) or you can just keep as one longer vine, it’s up to you.

In my experience there’s more success if I cut in between every node :)

Could be too much intense direct sunlight if that is a West facing window. The leaves below the windowsill looks fine, blocked from the sun. The leaves in direct light are struggling. Pothos typically can’t take direct light. They sunburn. I have about 70 potted plants and the only ones that can take intense western sun are the herbs, day lilies and jasmine. That’s just one possibility. Too much fertilizer or too frequent application can cause yellowing. The other could be water issues as mentioned before. My parents house had lots of metals in the water due to ancient city water lines that deteriorated. We could only use rainwater on the indoor plants because distilled water was for the iron! 😁

    Have you checked the roots?

I just took it out of the pot to check the roots and they look really healthy to me but maybe outgrowing the current pot

You can go up to the next pit size or try just giving it fresh soil in the same pot to give it a nutrient refresh ☺️ they do look good!
