mine started doing better when i gave it something to climb and wrapped the growth around the top of the soil to grow more full

Could you explain this a little more? How does it grow more full if you wrap it around the top and what did you give it to climb?

any new growth i had i would wrap it around the top of the soil so it could grow more roots, for climbing i used bread ties and wrapped it around the rope of my hanging pots

Definitely a good source of light will urge it to grow more/become fuller and climb!

I would also make sure you updated your plant pot size so your watering schedule will adjust if it's bigger. You could check the soil pH to see if that might be throwing the plant off a bit, or make sure you don't skip the next time to fertilize the plant. That will help give the roots a boost.

You can also propagate those leafless stems! Cut in between each node and put them in water.

I second chop and prop approach. I pop the rooted cuttings back in the mother plant to make it fuller.
